eps 16 plus rack

anyone have experience with one of these? what's a decent price for one? I mainly want it for triggering drum samples, prolly run samples through it too.

Simply Put, Get one.
I highly doubt you'll regret it. It's only drawback to me is that it didn't sample in stereo. The sound of it is Dope!
Your not gonna wanna spend more than $200-$250 on these but I would go up to $300 for a Turbo version w/ SCSI.
I've owned (2) in the span of my lifetime. Both Turbo Rack versions w/ SCSI. I regret selling the last one I had cause it was in pristine condition.
Been considering copping one again myself.

i had eps classic keyboard and can tell the filter was amazing. samples got character when recorded in the eps. it went tho coz i had too many samplers

im buying it Saturday for$125. I mainly wanna use ableton push with it and trigger drum samples from the eps. how's the chopping on it? it's not the turbo

Once you get the workflow down it's dumb easy.

Look up non destructive chopping videos for the ASR-10 and eps16+ on youtube.

Then use notemode on the push to play the chops.

Ensoniq has non resonant filters on the EPS16+, but you can add LFO's to your samples and layer the heck out of your drums. If you do your homework and reading on waveform synthesis and can chop tight samples from records you can make some interesting sounds.

A single instrument can have 8 sounds, but you can select multiple instruments at once.

Did i mention the reverb effect on this sampler is excellent?

v00d00ppl is right on... This is a VERY powerful Synth/Sampler. Everything he mentioned is in there & that's just scratching the surface.

I picked it up today. Thing is a tank! its in pretty good shape to. id give it a b for the kinda shape it's in. can't wait to get her home

waiting on mine to get here already. I only paid 150 for mine. If I can find the v 1.30 version of the OS on SD or CF, I'll probably put a floppy emulator if I decide to do any real beats ON that machine. otherwise I'll just use it to run samples thru. I didn't peep that it only sampled in mono. that's cool though...
