Anyway, here's the volca, but more of playing around with my new Strymon Bluesky

haha no kidding - within the first little bit of it being uploaded I already had five favorites on a track that had been listened to four times!

I'll check out your demo when I get to some real speakers, SCI!


EDIT: Giving it a quick listen right now on my laptop speakers. That Bluesky sounds sexy already! Dang!

well hey, you can get Strymon's really nice tape delay emulation pedal for $30 less than snazzy's!

Cool, this thread is alive and well. I liked the drunken jams and the recording with the Strymon. The Volca Bass keeps sounding better and better. For all the people I see on the forums looking for a good bass synth, you really get your money's worth, no matter what style of music you're creating. I'm looking forward to buying the Volca Bass even more after hearing these jams. Keep 'em coming!

For power adapters for the Volca, you could get the official Korg one, but you can get other perfectly good ones for much cheaper.

Problem is, you can also get crap ones for cheaper.

I bought one off of Ebay, found out that it was crap (it made audible buzzing when plugged in without the volca connected... figured at first it might be defective. Seller was nice, sent me another for free, but same issue, super cheap adapter).

And this one's definitely good quality. I even opened it up, and I could tell it was properly-designed electronically, not the bare-bones crusty circuitry that was in the first one I bought.

So yeah, thought this might be useful for anyone looking for an adapter, because it's impossible really to tell which are going to be decent quality (at that low a price) before you buy them.

Thanks for sharing that link. I'm definitely gonna go with that. I was just thinking about stocking up on the bulk pack of batteries. But this would be better, since I'm always using them at home.

@ sciguy - I just ordered one of those power supplies for now, since I had some cash leftover this week. The seller is in New York (which I noticed from the sales tax... the total came out to $9.09 ). So I should get it fairly quick. Now that I got a few things out of the way (new pads, MO drive, and EB16 for my MPC2k), I'm getting closer to copping the Volca Bass. Then I'll buy 2 more adaptors.

volca bass is fantastic. I don't have mine at the moment, because it seemed to be defective, and I'm waiting on a replacement.

Sorry to hear about yours being defective. What was happening with it?
