I want to use chops i cut up on the mpc along with ableton drums but i cant seem to get the ableton drums to record. I only have the recording from the mpc internal samples i got. So basically chops on mpc from sampling vinyl along with ableton drums. Any ideas are greatly appreciated

if you are trying to sequence using the mpc, maybe try and make sure midi in is enabled on ableton... and make sure the track on your mpc is sending the correct midi output and channel.

maybe it might be better to sequence with ableton in that situation though.

Thanks for your reply Debauch, havent heard from you in a while :o . Yes Midi is enabled for ableton, im currently using mpc as a midi controller in ableton and that works fine. I can hear audio and audio shows its coming in on the ableton meter but i cant get ableton to record my midi performance using mpc as a midi controller with ableton drums. I just want to be able to switch back and forth between my samples on mpc and ableton sounds on the daw controlled by mpc. It defeats the purpose in my situation since i want to make the beat on mpc and just record sequences into ableton. Certainly someone out there has done this,it seems like it should be a simple task.... :|

I used to do this with Sony Acid and an MPC60. Acid had a function that would let you record right into it and add it as a track when you where done. It worked pretty well.

I don't know if Ableton does or not. I haven't used it enough to give you an answer. I think it probably can though as it is pretty powerful software.

You could record you MPC seperate and then add it to Ableton.

Or use a second computer or whatever to record them together.
