Hey,
I'm choosing between some MPCs.
I want to know the difference in sound quality, handling, etc, between akai2500, 2000XL, 5000, and Renaissance.
Can you guys help me?

What type of music do you want to make?

I wouldn't really chose/ make a decision based on sound.

Better off going for functionality..

Usually the type of music you make can guide you...

HAve you used mpcs before?

so. what would be?
i like to move easily, fast, sampling a lot, shocking samples, and sound pure. not too artificial, if you know what i mean.

they told me 2000xl would sound too digital.

All of those machines can do that once you get to know them.

Read the manuals of each one to check the features of each.

As Lampdog is trying to explain, the 'sound' you want can eventually be achieved with any MPC, it's all down to your skills on the machine. There's no quick fix and no magical solution to getting any sound. You should choose an MPC that fits your budget and workflow needs and with that MPC you can work getting the sound you want.

Also remember that the MPC is just one piece of the jigsaw, most producers will use all manner of other samplers, effects, software, hardware etc to achieve their goals.

So read up on all the MPCs, pick the ones with the features and workflow you need, decide on a budget and come back with some specific questions.

right, i will change the question:
2500 will offer easy handling & pure sound?
same with renassence?
(i used a PUSH before and it seemed quite hard to play, live, for example).
why some guys say 2000xl has too digital sound, and 5000 is terrible to handle (too hard, too difficult to cordenate)?

doin the kind of sound i showed, what you guys would pick personally?

5000 is buggy, but the 2000XL and 2500 are both very good MPCs. The 2500 has much better features, it's basically an updated XL, plus it has an optional operating system (JJOS) which improves the Akai OS.

The XL has better build quality but only holds 32MB RAM. The XL does not sound digital, it has a good sound, as does the 2500.

Both are great MPCs.

and about RENAssence?

a friend of mine told me it is also a little buggy and complicated to cordinate the both "qualities" - digital and "traditional", saying.

for the trad. lovers, it is considered a good machine?

It really depends on ones workflow. I don't have any problems using the Studio. But there are several users that don't like it.

Can't go wrong with a 2500 with JJOS.

The sound really depends on ones skills.
