UA Apollo VS. RME UFX

Whats good yall....Ive been looking to replace my motu hybrid interface with either the apollo or the RME. I wanna run better interface with my REN, some of my VST plug-in's, along with protools 10. Ive done a lil research on the two and im having trouble on deciding which one to purchase. Just wanted a lil feedback if anybody have use one or both interfaces before with the REN. Thanks!!!

Are you needing an interface to use for recording? If not, with the Ren's built in soundcard, do you need one?

Also, the apollo's main draw is that you can run Universal Audio plugins while still getting 8 inputs and a monitoring station. They also just released their "Apollo Twin" with less inputs and less processing power for UAD plugins.

I will say that I use my Apollo to track out through the 8 outs on my mpc 4000, and I don't regret it at all. I love being able to record vocals with a compressor going in as well. My advice is to ask yourself what you really need, and then find an interface that matches that.

You really don't need those unless you got other gear, because on a minimal, the Ren and a laptop is all you need. . .and some good monitors too because you can hook up a pair directly to the Ren.

Universal Audio sells just the processing cards so that you can run their plugins if that's something that you are interested in. That's what I would suggest if you are using the Ren and want to get some different plugs.

Yes and it sucks because you can only use it if you have a fruit computer….
