From what Dan said in the video when he claimed it was still going to happen, it sounded as if it would have to wait until after MPC Software development had eased off, and I can't see that happening for a while.

is there any way to speak to this department? any email contact? because many people are still interested in updating the 5000 and would pay for it

2nd that i would pay for a dope upgrade if they did a solid upgrade this 5000 could be a super beastly hardware mpc....

Someone needs to make a documentry of the disapointing shame, akai has done with the mpcs models over many years since the Roger Linn first release. Just like the accomplishment they are known for. Like helping with the start of hiphop and electronic music.

I think the mpc5000 will be at the top of the list for the most disapointed release.

Akai programmer hinted in ren forum that akai only supports currently in production MPCs a.k.a money makers...in translation there won't be any updates from akai for hardware MPCs a.k.a no money to be made there for akai and discontinued MPCs

exactly, and if they offered it to a 3rd party like many people wish or suggest.... the 5000 would instantaneously become their competition.
