I see alot of people talking about the software for Renaissance on MACs but I would like to hear from some PC users on how the software is performing on windows platforms?

Thanks

I run Windows XP. Seems to work fine...although crashed after I had to scan the VSTs, but once I restarted, its been okay. My biggest complaint was that the other disks - the VSTs that came with it, do not work.

Have a Mac and a pc both run the same. Windows has and extra utility setting box to enable hi speed driver settings to improve latency. Mac runs low latency without the extra utility

Now from what i read on the specs, it said that Minimum requirement were asking for Windows 7, but you are running it on XP? So everything worked fine until you tried to implement VSTs? Was that the 3 VST instrument that comes with the REN or other VSTs?

I'm running on windows 7, 4 gigs ram, 2.4 dual core and its running very smoothly. It does take a split second to load up different sounds in my instruments and vst's but i guess that's expected. It has only crashed twice and I haven't re-created the crash.

Other than that, I feel the software offers pretty much everything I need for my existing workflow. it's a beast.

There's really no excuse for that, go for minimum spec if you don't want extra 'issues'.

What he said.....

All users should use the minimum recommended PC/Mac spec.

hello all,

there appears to be a slight discrepancy concerning the minimum system requirements. i checked a couple of online retailers (MF, GC, SA, etc) which all list Windows XP and Vista as compatible for PCs. However, the akai website and manual only include Win 7.

before purchasing my Ren, i contacted akai tech support who advised it will work with XP. the MPC software itself works with XP. however, 2 of the expansion packs i tried do not. haven't attempted the other 2 but i'm guessing they will not work either. i don't have other VSTs so i can't comment on how well they may or may not function.

Same problem here, all the expansions coming along with my mpc studio (the bank, the 809, the wub, the noise) seem not to work on windows vista which I'm still running. Does anybody know if these expansions are available somewhere in other versions that would work on older windows???

Im running W7, 64bit, 16GB of ram and I have no issues. Every once in a blue moon a vst will crash it but it rarely happens. Its pretty solid for me since 1.5

Currently Im running an Intel 4th Gen I4670k processor with 12GB of Ram with Samsung 840 series SSD drive. No problems or crashes since 1.5 upgrade.
I sometimes leave sessions I am working on for several days without any issues.
