i've reprogrammed a launchpad in bidule. it is now my primary melody writing tool, replacing a keyboard. it does amazing things, especially coupled with my quneo (also reprogrammed in bidule).
adding features is pretty easy. please help me by thinking of something i may have missed.
currently i have:
8 octaves of a user-defined scale
fader to control velocity of notes (launchpads aren't velocity sensitive)
button to toggle arpeggiator (repeat held notes in order played)
cc to control arpeggiator speed
button to toggle note repeat
cc to control note repeat speed ("liquid" note repeat button, smoothly transition between NR quantize states)
fader to smoothly transpose up to +5 octaves
]pitchbend with smooth center return
mod wheel with smooth 0 return
button for note hold (blocks note offs of all triggered notes)
button for note close (sends note off for all open notes, works as a panic button too)
button to block all note ons (if you've set up an arpeggio with the note hold button but want to rhythmically mute it)
feedback lights indicating recorded midi from 16 different channels (in different colors!)
i could add:
button to toggle input quantize to project tempo
fader to adjust input quantize resolution
midi delay (unnecessary, probably, as i could just use a delay vst on the audio)
what else would be cool?
in other modes, i wrote a 16 step step sequencer (needs work) and a MLR (monome) style instrument, but those are worth another post.
this is a screencap of my bidule instance...this contains my launchpad program, my quneo program, my tempo syncer, and some other petty stuff
