From what I see, they're selling for around $500 on ebay. Theres quite a bit to be had for that money. But I also decided to read up on Logic Pro last night and see that it REALLY gives me more for $199.

Get ableton and an novation sl +Mini launchpad....you won t rerget it?the Mv8000 is a nice and huge maschine but dated....
You can do a lot more with ableton...

I just sold my mpc1000, and also a mpc2000xl to buy a mpc2500.

Very happy with it. It's like the mature version of the 1000. Really like the size, the numeric buttons, the extra Q-knobs and bigger Q-sliders, the looks and the screen. I'm planning on buying the JJOS2xl soon, working with jjos free now.

So that's also an option. A computer + software + controllers gives you less hands-on control and it costs a lot more, I think.

I think you just have to do some home work as I think most of us speak from our own experience and mistakes lol..All the aforementioned machine's and programs are dope! it just depends on what you think is best for you.. I think they all have some sort of imperfections and that can be a good thing ! We don't want robots on the beat(daft punk notwithstanding) hahaha they did win a "Shammy" I mean a Grammy... I love my MPC but My Maschine just does it and makes it fun at the same time! If you can copp the Studio do it and you wont look back! although I'm thinking about dumping my songs into the MV to master etc.. As for the MK1 I would add some dollaz and get the K2...
