Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By drummergirl Wed Jul 23, 2003 5:56 pm
I just got my mpc , so I'm sure I'll have a million questions on things.
I tried the Program mode and the 16 levels functions and...it didn't sound like either one of these things did that much.
Program mode just works with midi notes -right?
And I have nothing midi attached,so I didn't expect that'd do much.
But what is 16 levels supposed to do?
Thanks.

16 levels allows u to set a sample so that the 16 pads play the same sample at varying levels of a paramater you set:
EG you can set it to velocity and the 16 pads will play the same sample at 16 diff. velocities, good for playing drums., you can set it to a list of other parameters, basically it saves alot of time by not requiring you to stop a groove and program changes in velo, attack etc.

the program mode you will use, this is how you create groups of samples that you can play on the mpc.
