I create sample based hip-hop, and I record all my samples from vinyl records. I use a Shure M44-7 needle (since i scratch a lot), a Vestax 07 PRO mixer which i run directly into the MPC1K.

The sample quality I get from this setup - will it be acceptable in a "professional" recording studio? I really wouldnt want to resample everything when i get in the studio..

It will be perfectly good quality. I use the same setup, but with an Ecler HAK 320 and a 2000XL. In fact, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of hiphop records out there use a very similar setup: SL1200 with an M44-7 or other 'DJ' cartridge, through any half decent scratch mixer, straight into your MPC of choice.

Audiophiles might insist on audiophile hi-fi cartridges and esoteric A-D converters for the best sound from vinyl, but we're talking hiphop here, and the above setup is what everybody has used for years and it sounds great. You're good to go.
