XLCD - Is the xOx stly TR editor on this?

Hey guys,

I have the free OS bundled with JJ OS for the XL screen. Until very recently I have just stuck with the standard akai OS. I only upgraded to get the XLCD to work so scuse if this Q seems a little odd.

First off I am baffled by the JJOS site. I have no clue what OS version came free with my XL screen but im pritty sure it isnt the XL OS?? I think its the 128 one. The XL one is for the standard sized screen unless I am mistaken. Does anyone else think this is mad and utterly confusing?

Id like to make use of the xox TR style editor Ive heard people mention with JJos. Is this on the free os with the XL screen?

I have looked on the highly confusing JJos site and there is no mention of xox or TR and I haven't a clue what else it would be called.

Anyone know how much the none free OS for the XL screen is? There seems to be no prices or anything on the site.

I cant believe a guy so clever he can make an OS for the MPC that makes the Akai one look daft can be so terrible at HTML and CSS lol

JJ doesn't speak English so you do have to read between the lines somewhat and teach yourself a lot of what the JJos is capable of.
But its intuitively laid out so in between reading the online periodically confusing manual, asking questions in this forum and using your own common sense its all within your grasp.

128 is for the large screen mod.

Using it isn't a problem.

But what I need to know is

1 - How much is the upgrade version of JJOS that comes with the XL screen?

2 - Does the free or upgrade version of JJOS that comes free with the XL screen have a xox/TR drum editor? If so which one and is one better than the other?

1) JJ OS128XL is pay OS. (Installation is free)
The price of a password is US$98.00.

2)OS128 does not have (Grid Edit (DRUM) Loop Edit Mode)OS128XL Does.

(I did checked the comparison form prior to posting here but unless you know that Loop edit mode means xox or TR style mode then you wont notice it. Loop edit mode???? )

Loop Edit Mode was an existing feature of the MPC series, it's just the place he put XOX mode.

Stop expecting the mountain to come to mohammed and be patient. it makes sense in the MPC lexicon, but it's an expansion of the vocabulary.

Not expecting anything to come to anything mate. Just wanting to buy something so finding out if its there or not?

The JJ web site is shocking. Thats not me being nasty. Thats my assessment of it as a paying customer. Its not just the language barrier, the the fact that it looks like it was made in the 80s. I don't believe for one minute all Japanese web sites are so terrible.

Again, not being a dick, just how I found my experience of that site. If it wasnt for the help here even after visiting the site and spending time looking for two things, xox/TR mode and a price, I came away scratching my head.

i must agree. its a good thing theres a payoff, these oses are worth the effort i think. what if we were stuck with the akai os?

Absolutely mate. Thats why I persevered and then gave up and asked here.

If it were not for the reputation of JJOS and me having some previous knowledge and conformation it isn't a scam I would have took one look and gone.

To think JJ has been going for a long time now and made some decent money in return for his superb MPC softs, I just think eve a custom made site template and pay me 100 quid to make sense of it and then he would have better access to the English speaking world.

As it stands, the product is extremely professional yet the web site is extremely Amateur. Id imagine a few have been put off along the way by it.

JJs skill as a OS designer are first rate or better.

JJ skill at marketing seem poor. Or, maybes he knows this and JJOS is just a side line to him. Like you say either way im happy for JJos and forums with decent communities like this one to help me translate it all.

Got it, had to search his site from google to find payment link. If it were my site this would be the most prominent thing on there. Anyhow, thanks for all the help, just waiting the 24 hrs to receive my password. Not sure why I have too, surely PP can instruct JJ I paid and it automatically be sent right away? Anyhoo

Well thats a problem as I used my hotmail.com account. No where until the very last page did it say I couldn't. Does this mean I wont now get my password? Anyone jumped through these hoops before?
