What we need to be able to do this is an FX version of the MPC plugin (one that can be loaded into an FX insert slot in Cubase). This would allow us to place it on an FX insert of an Audio track which could then have any other track routed to it for recording. It's actually a fairly basic thing that other companies have done in order to do things like sampling & vocoding.

I'll try and think of another way but right now nothing is coming to me that doesn't include the Ren audio interface.

Oh, also being able to use the Ren as an aggregate device would do the trick.

CRICKETS.... :fku:

:WTF: Please don't take offense. No one has the answer. We have to many proud heads around here that would be happy to give you a solution if they had it themselves. We just don't know. Its a legitimate issue that I think only AKAI can remedy. Trust me you would rather hear crickets rather than false hope.

Wassup people.

Of course I am here because I have the same setup and am wanting to do the same thing and having the same problem! DAYUM! The crazy thing is that this can be done on Logic Pro 9 so I don't understand why it cannot be done in Cubase!
I have been on the phone with AKAI many times to no avail! so I have defaulted to trying on the Cubase site in hope that I get better help. I of course will bring any info back here.

Peace.

The Invisible Men......

Good luck...LOL!

I'm so frustrated that my Ren is just sitting here collecting dust...while my Maschine Studio keeps crankin' em out. It's a shame in all honesty. How could someone not fix this...or even code a plug like NI and Fxpansion (spitter) to do this...after practically begging like a herb for a fix for like FOREVER? All I ever got was "....Oh switch your soundcard to be the Ren...."
As such I'm like are y'all f**king stupid or what? In cubase IF YOU DO THAT you lose all of your external instrument and fx assignments AND if you have outputs assigned to a hardware mixer, like I do, it will break the connections for that also!! So that when you switch back to your original driver.....you'll have to spend a good 15-20 minutes doing ALL the reassignments. Furthermore, It's asinine and disrespectful to take a "it's not us it's them.." attitude. I mean....isn't it bad enough that Akai nailed quite a few of us OG's on this board with the $1200 dollar entry point only to see them selling for bargains at around 800 now....I'm like really? Am I not supposed to be pissed? This thing can't even hold it's worth...LMFAO. Granted what do you want for a controller basically...but.... This whole b.s. facade of it still being Akai is a total joke. I'm old enough to have had and used the REAL Akai's professional products since they made the S612. From owning that to s950's to s1100's alongside the majority of all the MPC series which I still own to this very day. I've been an akai fanboy for a freaking EON now!! lmao. But this? this is just a shadow of Akai...Way over their heads and way too late to really grab a foothold of any market share. They're hoping that most of the younger generation are partially ignorant in believing the hype, which at that time was warranted, surrounding the use of MPC's in the development of Hip Hop and partially at the same time in Dance Music. Using artist videos which were pointed to a "particular" demographic to achieve such nonsense. Read between the lines here y'all. As such the majority fell for it...I mean if araabMUZIK rocked this...it has to be hot right? ROTFLMAO! Yeah ok....At the same time capitalizing on the "pro-sumer" rage that most of all the manufacturers had decided to be into because they believe it's the only way to remain in the "black". I for one am ashamed at what has become of the industry. But there are some manufacturers who still believe in making professional products for "PROFESSIONALS". These are the products I used to dream of being able to afford and use when I was kid just trying to make it in the biz. It made me want to make better music...It made me want to keep reaching higher. It's when we used to say..."damn if only I had that!" Where are those products today from Akai? A caveat though...the programmers are doing what they believe in...and for all the missteps with this product they shouldn't shoulder the blame. I can understand the pride they have in a product. But COME ON...when you bought hardware...the Sh*t just worked!!! That's all I want...for my purchase to work as advertised and to make my job easier...not harder.

Rant Over

Btw...I've waited close to a year for a fix. At this time I cannot in any right frame of mind recommend this product to anyone. Especially in any professional capacity. Sometimes it is what it just is....
