how do you like that ZED16?? I was thinking about picking one up earlier this year.

I do like it. Still getting used to a reduced number of channels but it works well and connects to the ADAT with optical cables, lessening the wiring count.
One thing I miss is the subgroups (it doesn't have any) as I am used to having 8.

I haven't managed to get the Firewire to work yet. I think it's a computer problem but to be honest , I didn't really buy it for that as I'm a hardware user and never got on with the computer for music.

It's very compact. Maybe even a little cramped, and the faders are only 60mm but that's what you want in a small environment like this. The 32 channel console I had before really took over the space.

Don't get rid of anything. It will all go up in value in time. Someone will want or need something desperately one day soon and you will be able to say "$5000".

The Zed R16 would be the next logical upgrade for me if I stick with the interface/mixer combo. The ADAT connections would be a bonus, as would being able to route audio back into the mixer from Cubase for basic summing.

I don't know how reliable they are though? The negative stuff tends to be the first things that appear when you search around forums, but I've noticed a number of people with issues.
