Amen break and the MPC-4000

Snowed in like much of the East coast yesterday, so I made a video regarding the Amen Break and the MPC4000. Surprised I haven't seen one specifically for the 4000. Just adding to the lexicon for those that are interested in the 4000 but not sure how it will work. I was searching for this sort of stuff pre ownership of the 4000. SO here you are.

interesting seeing how you did that... I wouldn't have thought to set up the pattern of the break ahead of the sequencing. (not that I have a 4000)

Even though I mainly just lurk on this site (there's no point in talking unless you have something to say), I'm always inspired to use my 4000 when watching your videos/reading your posts. Good work, know there's folks out there watching, enjoying and learning.

@ Kalou, thanks for the comment I sincerely appreciate when people watch the videos. Time is important to us all and I want to help others to be productive. The 4000 is so practical, powerful and fun to use that I just want everyone to realize its value.

I remember the days when people would be secretive about their process. It wasn't because they were creating a mystery (which can be helpful), it was because of fear and greed. Jazz musicians would perform and show their skills openly. The only secretive person I recall learning about was guitarist Robert Johnson. (I am sure there are others)

@Debauch I am glad that there are other ways to conceive of this process. Now we just need others to show or describe how they "skin a cat" as the saying goes.

I'll have to watch this again and takes notes. The fact that it's unorthodox makes it interesting.

I tested out the Amen in the OP-1 when I first got it, but it's hit and miss without proper mute groups.

slightly off topic i just got some stanton st-150's and was wondering how the "constant Pitch" knob works, have to be using the digital out huh?

i got no constant pitch using the RCA outputs.

@Peeping the key correction on my Stanton STR8 100 is not dependent on the RCA or the digital out. You press the button to highlight pitch, then when you increase or decrease the pitch and play the record it will sound funny, you then press the key correct and it does it's job on the vocals nicely.
