Poll: Default Program Settings

When creating a new program out of slices and assigning them to pads, that new program by DEFAULT is always on Mute Group 1, Master=Mono, Pad Play=Mono

Doesn't make much sense, because if you wanted an all Poly program thats 3 settings I have to go in and change every single time after I create that new program.

Makes more sense when mute group is set to 0 by default, Then have Pad Play=Poly, and finally master you could make either Mono or Poly doesn't matter but I'd prefer Poly, either way if they fixed the defaults I would only have to switch from Master Poly-Mono/Mono-Poly one time, and then mute groups are at 0, and pad play set to Poly, but that can be easily cancelled by changing master to Mono

Prog Master=Mono, Mute Group=1, Pad Play Mono < This doesn't make sense to me to have this as default, I would like to hear if anyone else would prefer a different default such as...Prog Master=Mono, Mute Group=Off, Pad Play= Poly

I like it the way it is, what you are suggesting wold maker do what you are doing sins I never use poly

So you never use poly? Do you ever chop drums and want them to play over each other?

The least they can do take off Mute Group 1 as default, and pad play off mono default, that way we only need to toggle one thing if we the desired poly or mono for master.

So much easier to have to only switch one thing, instead of 3 if I want a poly program.

What about others who actually use Poly programs? Don't you find it annoying you have to go turn off 3 different settings just to make the Pgm polyphonic???

I'm listening to all your tracks right now, if those drum kits you have are drum programs I can clearly hear drums overlapping hi hats kicks snares, u sure you never use polyphonic setting? You would need to create a ton of copies of mono programs and such just to make those beats you have if ur not using poly.

Even so, STILL.... why would u want your default program assigned to a mute group 1??? Why do they assign a mute group by default automatically?? Cant wrap my head around that one.

Good answer tho, makes sense for you if you limit yourself to just Mono programs can't argue what works for you, but anyone that uses BOTH Mono and Poly equally care to chime in about this? I use both Mono and Poly equally but still find these defaults to be stupid.

I like it how it is right now. I pretty much use one shot as my drums sounds and rarely chop them, but I sample a lot of songs tho so this isn't really problematic for me. But I know what you talking about, because when chopping drum breaks, of course you'd want them to overlap immediately. So what I suggest is we should have this as an option while creating a new program out of chops!

I think so to... i dont think a option is needed... if you chop samples and want mono mode its so quick to go to the master for the pgm and set it to mono.. mute groups is such a manual choice rather than something that should be automatic...

For programs converted from slices: Prog Master=Mono, Mute Group=Off, Pad Play=Mono

Fro programs created from New Program: Prog Master=Poly, Mute Group=Off, Pad Play=Poly

exactly! or at least keep mute group on 0 if it defaults on mono, overkill and unnecessary
