Sounds missing in sequence.

I hit the pads. For example hihats, I can hear all the sounds I play,

But when the recording is done and Im going to listen to the sequence I played, some of the sounds are missing..

This happens 8 of 10 times..

Any ideas ?.

Got the MPC 3000.

Do you think you could be exceeding the polyphony?
If you are using long samples these can eat into your polyphony maximum as can stereo samples.
Maximum in use is 32 but stereo samples count as two.
if you then make a busy sequence you will hit problems

Also, maybe you need to understand the quantise function better.
Try putting quantise on 1/16, 1/32 or higher and then see if you get missing notes on playback.

I will try that.. Always played with quantize off..

Sound as mono/poly/note off.. Doesn't matter.

are you using external midi gear? what exactly is happening with the samples? what kind of samples, how many are you sequencing..... there has to be something going on here causing this.

No external midi-gear..

4 bars, Straight 16 note HiHat.. I play 2 different pads, 16 levels velocity..

what the christ? that's all you did and it's doing that?

You wouldn't run out of polyphony with just that.. or midi events. And this is happening on both machines?

both machines yes.

Really strange.. I can hear the whole pattern when I record it, But when the sequence plays, its like some of the sounds are gone..
I don't know what to do. Haha.

I mean, how can it be the same on both a 3000 and a 60?
Unless it's an extremely rare coincidence, which is entirely possible, just not probable.

Go to OTHER and INIT all parameters.

Yeah you are doing something wrong for sure. Its a matter of settings your 3000/60 certainly works just fine

While at it how do you save a par file on the 60? Read the manual and didnt find it. 3.10 here

isnt the par file the parameters file? because the 60 has an internal battery that keeps the parameters which is no good if you make changes and are working on another song... so you reset the parameters and save a new par file for the new song. It should be in the disk/save section... at least in the old os it is.

Yeah thats what i'm saying i want to make some settings so each time i turn the mpc 60 on it initiates a sequence with the desired paramaters.

That can be saved internally by using the internal battery but also to disk just in case the battery needs be replaced at a certain time

I couldnt find how you do that yet
