ARP Odyssey remade by Korg

More goodness from Korg by the look of it.

Wow, this is going to be exciting. I hope KORG will be able to carry on ARP Odyssey's legacy. I think KORG can deliver though, seeing how they successfully produced MS-20 reissue.

I hate to say this, but KORG really gets it, and Roland doesn't quite get what consumers want... I mean, their new Jupiter synth (which I cannot see any relevance with the original analog Jupiter), and AIRA series looks nice, but I don't see a lot of people drooling over it.

This will indeed be cool if it has more voices than the original, or is less expensive. As it stands now you can buy an odyssey they are about the place.

I am a fan of the original. One of my friends has one and I sampled it into my mpc4000. They sound wonderful.

Biggup to Korg for this if it is indeed real.

KORG seems to be on the right track when it comes to the concept that...wait for it folks...Gather 'round Roland, Akai, etc.

That Simple IS COOL!!!

Hopefully there is some analog love-making going on under the hood of this new ARP box.

It's hard for companies to understand how simple analog circuitry makes all the difference. It gives music so much more...feeling, if you will.

I dig this way more than System-1...

Roland could have just re-released analog 808's again with better sequencing options and could be drowning in money and yet they go the digital route, but I digress.

This goes right on my list of gear that I gotta have.

If I was an old fella with any rights over the design of a classic analogue synth, I'd be on the phone to Korg ASAP!

They're remaking the MK-II which has the best filter (close to the classic Moog ladder filter) and is the most sought after. There's one on eBay UK for £2399 at the minute!

Hopefully they make it 1:1 scale and add MIDI for a decent price.

yes^ you are right... and not with 1/8th" jacks or anything breakable like that...

There seems to be an extra switch on the faceplate in the filter section, thoughts are that it might be a switch to select between the MKII and the MKIII filters.

Not sure from the photo, looks like maybe mini keys.

I was just thinking that the last thing i need is another synth (well monosynth anyway) then I saw this. DAMNIT! I dont know if I can resist this.

From this side by side with a real Odyssey, it looks like it is full size, not mini keys/case...

Korg knows what to do, Roland just woke up, what about Akai hmm? Still chasing Roger Linn dreams.

Often had the thought about investing in a original ARP Odyssey – but thanks god I kept my hands on the table, because that would have been a value losing investment

If it has midi (like Coz stated) and is less expensive than an Elektron Analog keys or the Rytm then I will buy it. Other than that elektron has hit the nail on the head with their analog pieces plus they are out now on the market.

Once you sample the Arp at a nice rate in your MPC4000 (per se) you are good. go back and sample it again and it will sound different once you change a setting.

Monophonic analog is not so cool in 2014, to me. So I hope it will have a few new features.

if those were mini keys (i.e. the whole thing's been scaled down) then those sliders and such would be goddamn microscopic.
