Beat Making on the MPC1000 for jjos 1 version 5.00 ?

Hey iv been looking at that book "Beat Making on the MPC1000" Iv got JJOS 1 version 5.00. I am wondering if the tutorials would still be relevant to my mpcs OS. Also in the opinions of those who have used it do you think it will give me a good starting point in how to be more creative with the mpc 1000. Iv done a few nice beats but I find myself falling into the rut of trying to do things the same way simply because its been the only way thats worked for me. Anyway tell me what you think, peace.

I purchased and used the "Beat Making On The MPC 1000" book when I first started out on the 1k using the stock Akai OS and it was very informative and very helpful great insight on what each feature does and how it works etc, helped me a lot learning how to create a beat on the 1k and also it a bonus that it covers the free JJOS as well, which was beneficial to me anyway when I took to plunge into JJOS. Got my head around the free JJOS then decided the time was right to take a even deeper plunge into JJOS2XL and I never looked back

Anyhow I digress from the subject a bit there, I've never used JJOS1 as I went straight onto JJOS2XL so it maybe worth a look at a good manual that a user Stan Steel on here put together as it might help you out

JJOS1 differs to the free JJOS in many ways, but there's naturally a lot of crossover although the screen shots will differ. You'll learn a lot from my book whichever OS you run as ultimately it's teaching you general MPC beat making techniques and much of it is easily ported across different operating systems.

But JJOS1 isn't 'officially' supported nor specifically covered. But I don't have any plans to make a JJOS1 book as it has a very small user base now.

Would you recommend I get the 2xl?

What would you say is the best OS to learn on for a beginner MPC-Tutor ?

Would you say its work getting the free JJ OS just to follow the tutorials?

Depends on what you want and need, each JJOS has different features so it would be best to look at the JJOS comparison chart and work out what features would be useful to you and what OS would suit you best. Here a link to the chart

That really depends on what you want to do and learn, there is not really a best OS as each person requires different needs and requirements based on individual preference, learning speeds and knowledge of beat making and MPC's etc.

If you want to go back to basics then I would recommend starting off with the free JJOS and a copy of the beat making for MPC 1000 book. This will teach you all you need to know about how to get the most out of your 1k while making a beat in a great step by step guide.
