pitch/cent tuning

Assuming that my turntable is functioning as intended, when i record in to the mpc my sample is in tune. If for some reason my turntable is pitched off center, at least the sample is in tune with itself. But if i want to layer a synth, i need to know that my sample is at least recorded in at a real key center and at the very least, tuneable to one. with that said, what is the actual value of each degree in my "tune" field? if i tune up +10 is that equivalent to a half step? if not, what is equivalent to a half step? could it be +12? or -12 = down a half step? It's important to know so i can properly tune my samples. I'm sure that anyone who doesn't know the answer to this will be interested to know as well. thanks

yeah 10 is half step. so 120 is an octave

Do you have a belt-driven turntable?
Sometimes the belt is worn out and the "0" on your pitch is actually slower, or faster.
Had that on one of mine.
Just put on a record, and see if you have a digital copy of it aswell, youtube or whatever.
then pitch your turntable up and down till you find the right pitch to match the digital one. Then you can draw a line on your pitch slider where your "new" "0" is

it is belt drive. yes, i need direct drive.

that sounds way easier than my method of locating the fundamental pitch of a song, then tuning the table to a keyboard.
