Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Wondered if any of you cats had ever made a stand, that houses a Mpc2000 & a s3000?

I've seen a few posts about similar types of things, just looking for a few ideas, bit of input.

I want the s3000 at a bit of a downwards angle
And the Mpc2000 slightly raised at the back, i'm sure you get me.

The S3000 has rack ears so I'm going to build a sort of angled rack mount thing...With the Mpc on the top.

Annyway :P

Let me know if you have any ideas . !

:smoker: Blessup  :) :o  :!: :vomit: :-D !

Heres a DIY that took maybe 2 hours and cost 100 bucks all said and done...

top is slanted, works nicely

edit: the S950 isn't angled, once you angle something it does take up more space... I think the 3000 is quite a bit shallower then the 950 though... I could be wrong though

Yeah that looks nice & seems like a more logical way of doing it than my idea.
I'm not really familiar with 950's but I imagine they're equally & perhaps more big, long .chunky ass things ?
The S3000 is.
It's not a s3000 xl , the slimmer ones.

At the moment I have the 2000 on a a piano stool & the s3000 on a milk crate on top of a bass amp, so the s3000 is above the mpc , but set back.
Obviously space wise it's not great , but I'm going to do something with the sampler on top but slanted, ..

I drew a elaborate schematic but I cant figure out how to stick pictures in this box.
Anyone help me on that?

Yours looks dope mate.
Kudos
but when your fiddling on the 950 is it not a bit awkward with it being lower?
Also the backlights dead on mine so I have to get the right angle to see it : )
Ha, jokes, I'm going to get a new backlight foil eventually.

Thanks for showing me what you've built man, it's given me a lot of ideas.

yeah sometimes I have to lean forward to see it better but really... once i've set it I dont really do much more with it. for an entire track I might spend... 5-10 minutes looking at the 950, the rest of the time Im using the mpc

Yeah my trusty S3000i seems like it might be dieing, it did some odd "ot oh I dieing" ish and the screean died & the buttons stuck, bless it's soul, I've had it for 10 somthing years
I'll have to work out how to fix it
I could probably buy a s3000xl for the same price it will cost me to replace the backlight but that just creates more useless parts.
I really like MY s3000i, it is was made solid, and they're serious things.
I dont want to gut it.

Luckilly I just bought a Mpc2000 recently , and man they are the business.

The s3000I is cheap and easy to fix the screen. I'm sure the buttons won't cost much either. But here's a start.

Hey thanks man I appreciate the link
I know the back foils are pretty cheep and I've had my eye on one for a while
This was some other type of completely not functioning S**t in non technical terms it seemed to be saying "ner mate I'm fried"
I've been using it without the illumination for a while, you know, you can still see it, it's just a matter of the correct angle and light.
Obviously it's a pain in the arse, but fully functioning apart from the backlight.

But the other day it just stopped functioning all together
Screen went blank and all the buttons lit up and yeah well zero.

It was a shame because I'd just got into using the built in echo and stuff on it.

And I've read a lot of people seem to think this is simular to the mpc3000 in terms of sampling.
It's a dope sampler
With a lot more parameters for modeling samples then the mpc2000

And the saw and sighn waves are nice.

I'm wondering if it might just be cheaper to buy a whole new one.
I'll have to work out if I can fix it
I think with this old equipment you basically have to be willing to learn how to maintain them, I meen I've had it ten years, it's not junk, ha I'm rambling.
Hopefully it will rise once more a bust out beats like it was made to.
