iMPC vs. MPC software.

Ok,y'all gone think um crazy for saying this but if you use impc as just a sketch pad for your beat it's a dope program,I admit it's got a weird work around and retronyms pretty much left you in the dark about the fact that coupled with the MPC software it actually has a potential to have 64 tracks all done on the iMPC app......this is how each track on the iMPC app when you export the program folder has all parts put on one track like "MPC Essentials" so if you want each pad or sample part to have it's own track you simply figure out how many parts or pads your using copy track 1 that many times pick what sounds you want on to play on what track and erase all the other pads or parts from said track wash rinse repeat until all your sounds have separate tracks with in the MPC software to manipulate and add to as you see fit....oh yea and each track on iMPC becomes a corresponding bank on MPC software track 1 becomes bank A track 2 bank B and so on.

If I download the Impc will that give me a good idea of how the mpc studio works?

yo, dstr, u got some dope beats man, why didn't u just get another 1000?? on that note, beatmaker2 is like a 1000 with jjos..sell that ren homie and get a 1000, they go for pretty cheap, or fix up ur old one, u can get the parts from mpcstuff.com

Don't know about you guys but iMPC pro is getting really close to out doing MPC software,... Just saying.

I think that update 1.7 will have allot of similarities as well.

iMPC looks attratcive when you read the feature list but, let's face it, it's going to be another tedious 'work in progress' like the Ren software.

Why bother when good iOS software's already here. BM2 is a beatmaking-orientated full DAW for the iPad. It does Audiobus to control the best iPad synths. It does all your MPC-type stuff. I was able to map my MPD32 to it with no problems. It sounds good.

Still tempted to try iMPC Pro just for curiosity but I'm a believer in picking a tool you know works and running with it, rather than juggling loads of things that all ultimately serve the same purpose. It's a distraction from music.

hmm i think its fair to say that a lot of people have been taken with feature lists and such before purchasing something like a synth or sampler or sequencer. that being said, i think impcpro looks pretty nice. not thrilled with some features or lack thereof, and for those reasons i probably wont jump too fast, waiting for the bugs to be worked out and see what direction the software takes. i will pick it up if it starts supporting midi and audiobus. multiple outs is another wish. would be nice to hook it up to auria or similar and have it be the sequencing center of other software running on the same session... wonder if the ipad can handle that yet tho.

yeah that software is sorta half ass though compared to what it should be imho. would love a true pro solution and unfortunately thats not it either.

re bm2: ok well theres a big gap between 'amateur' and 'pro' in this instance. its some rich kid who paid a programmer to make his app and every time the programmer leaves it half ass
