New MPD Line,

but if they did release new MPDs, then what would be the point of an MPC Element?

Does anyone know what this is yet? Any chance it could be a new MPC model?

Could be something interesting, but doubt it's anything monumental... NAMM would have been the time to announce anything awe-worthy... even if it wasn't ready.

Probably a rehash of one of their midi controllers with blinged out purple, red, blue and green lights. I still don't understand the affinity with these colored lights... just don't see how they add anything to the music-making process.

Not buying into their hype any more, will check back on the 11th to see what pile of shit they are serving up this time.

@Eyalc i absolutely detested the idea of the colored pad lights for ages but then when using them i realized how informing they are of what's going on with the computer / software -- and that was really useful.

I suppose so. I'm just used to the older school. All the light bling is just silly to me. But if I have a change of heart one day, I'll be sure to come back to this thread and let u know! Lol.

Well the first pic Akai posted was of a wolf, and wolves howl.. and now a blurred out drum pad machine with a screen, so I am guessing it has to do with sounds. could be a sampler/MPX16, or an MPD with added software/sound content

YEah colored pads are extremely usefuul. Especially when you finger drum live sets... that have a lot of changes and parts. finger drumming beats for 30 mins is a fuken long time and can have a lot of different shit going on to remember...
