Any interest in a low priced MPC60 SCSI board?

Actually Simon, I designed the board so that the same Aztec Monster CF reader you posted can mount directly to the edge of my board, and you can also power it directly from the drive power outlet on my board, so if you wanted an internal drive, that's how you'd do it I figure if you drop a 1-2GB CF card in it, you would be golden for quite some time. I didn't want to remove the floppy in case I ever find a disk of samples I'd love to load up.

I'm not really a seasoned video maker and tried to get everything in, I noticed some things I mis-spoke or left out that if I have time I might try and fix. But overall I think I got everything in.

was going to make a breadboard scsi for my own amusement the other day but found the original logic chips are oos.

may actually be on the market for a couple of scsi cards

I tested out the Stratos Aztecmonster CF card reader with my SCSI card this weekend. It works wonderfully. It installs in a few minutes if you have the right cables and mounts, which I have available on my storefront as a kit as well as the last couple of SCSI cards. See the link in my previous post.

I'm using a 1gb CF card now as you can only use around 700mb max on a drive, A-Z 30mb partitions. I really like having all my sounds available right when I turn the machine on, it's a nice modern touch and it seems to load just a hair faster than the zip drive. I still have my floppy, and can use it or an external zip drive to load sounds and then I can store everything on the internal drive. The only issue is that on the MPC60II, since it's shorter front to back, putting the casing on/off needs to be done carefully as the drive sits nearly 1cm from the front edge and you have to carefully fit it inside the front mounting lip because of the power connector. The MPC60 should have no issues though since it has the extra room in front. The card reader fits in upside down and butted up against the CPU pcb.



I suppose if you didn't want your floppy drive and wanted to be able to change cards you could place it where the floppy goes, however the Aztecmonster doesn't have any tray or front panel(it's also not hot swappable). Nothing like an MPC with a Solid State hard drive!!!

Yeah, that would be cool, but maybe a little overkill . I want to keep my floppy drive. It keeps my options open.
