Wuddup, I was wondering in which format do samples get recorded on the MPC, let's say recording from the turntable to the MPC. Would it be a 16 bit, 44,100 hz, WAV file? I know I can only put 16 bit 44,100 hz files on the memory card, but I was wondering if there's a way to use higher quality samples. Thanks.

You can load any 16-bit wav, doesn't have to be 44100, not even multiplier of this rate. They are read as 44100 with changed tune, sometimes it's set automatically, sometimes you have to set it manually. I found that when I loaded drum kits extracted from soundfont file, and all of them had various rates like 28002 or 31540 or 6001. You can also load higher sample rates than 44100 like 88200, etc. and this for instance, makes a sound which is unloopable in 44100, loopable :-D it just has twice as much samples to choose from.
