Hi guys!

I have a s3000 in which I'm trying to install a SCSI hard drive.

My problem is the following : when I plug the hard drive in the s3000, the motor doesn't start / spin.

However, when I plug the same hard drive in my computer, the drive starts spinning as soon as I press the power button of the computer.

So here's my question : can the s3000 handle providing power to a hard drive?

I do have the proper power cable (it was already in the s3000 when I bought it).
I even can see a little green light on the hard drive when I power up the s3000, so I know its getting some power. I just don't get why it doesn't spin...

Any ideas? Thanks!!

OK guys, I just found the problem.

Turns out it was the damn power cable!! Enough power was going to the HD to lit the green light, but not enough to make the HD spin.

As these cables are hard to find (female floppy connector to one side and female molex for the HD on the other end), I had to cut two cables with the ends I needed and make one cable. I worked on the first try :)

I took me 3-4 days of tests, trials and errors to find what the problem was.

Thanks anyways guys! I now have a working HD in my s3000 :)
