I'm truly not hating, the more accurate word is scolding. i **** when I'm disappointed. I don't want them to fail. and your point is very good. but I'm still disappointed. i personally want one of these so called Big deals to actually be a big deal. like the Ren being the beast it can. simon i don't feel **** over. just dissapointed with the lack of Rens further development.

They seem to be moving forward with MPC Software development, from what they have shown us.

I would prefer they take the time to get it right, rather than rush it through just to give us an update quickly, and then have us bitching about the bugs, or workflow issues, that it might have due to not taking their time to do it right.

I don't think they can win, there is so much residual hate from them going from hardware to software/controller with the MPC, and the underdeveloped state of the software when first released, not to mention the state they left the MPC1000/2500/5000 in, that whatever they do, there is going to be hate.

What if they do release a Renaissance mk2, how much bitching would there be from mk1 owners, that they have spent time on the mk2 instead of giving them what they want for mk1, how mk1 owners deserve a special price on the mk2, etc.?

:-D  there would be a crazy amount of bitching. I'm not opposed to an mk2. as long as the mk1 got the software options we all want. i won't buy it. on the same account that laser is talking about. yeah after the 1000/2500/5000 let down i probably should have waited on Ren. i didn't jump on those. and sold my 1000 to stick with my trusty 2kxl. lets hope the new update that should drop anytime is what we need with our Rens.

one the large, you are probably right about the ren aspect. but i think that ship has sailed. no way am i trusting that company really and obviously i am not the only one.

if i was in the market for a large mpc i would get a 4000, perfectly happy with the 1000 really. in my opinion ren is a marketing scheme designed by a comitee, not a work of passion or dedication.

work of passion.. def not. trying to compete with machine, after they bluntly came up where alai did not. yes sir. honestly though i do think the Ren can be the truth. i make tracks daily on it. and well its not crashing any longer.

if it were like the virus TI, with standalon operation, as alot of people already said - that would indeed be a game changer. this way its still a controller no matter how you cut it.

$200 'analog' drum machine/synth = m.o.d.i.f.i.c.a.t.i.o.n.s
Bet I can squeeze a lot more controls out of that thing :)

well I think the Ren was a rushed product to begin with, and now they are taking the time to get things rite.

yea that was es-k?.. the only Akai gear I have is MPD32

MStudio is my first hybrid controller... mad fun, the pads are very responsive, and have a nice thickness to them.. but yea I am liking it

[quote="pk1"]Absolute garbage! It's only 200 bucks cause you ALL already have every sound that p.o.s. Can make. It's a cheap Roland 808/909 reprint/copy. That **** will only make the same sounds you have piled on your hard drive. F

Fix the **** ren. Make it perfect. The list of things that need to be done to that are huge ....STILL!

They keep wasting time on this ****. Straight consumer style. Pump out as much trash as a dumb American kid can buy.[/quote

id really like to see the 2.0 in action.

sorry off topic.

but i suppose this topic is dead since its original post. :fku:

hype? i only recall one blurred pic if anything. actually there has been surprising little fanfare for a completely new product of this caliber. hell the element had way, way more teasers.

i find this a step in the right direction but still think that akai is too disconnected from its real userbase to ever come back on track.

too much corporate thinking involved and real heads sniff it out like sharks do blood.

that's what the apostrophe's around the word hype was for....they tried to hype it with the typical blurry pictures and mysterious wording hoping to build hype...not saying it got a big buzz or anything...jsut saying they tried to 'hype' it but their social media push is not very strong to generate real hype. I can't say I feel its a step in the right direction because their direction seems a bit all over the place to me, but just my perception....

I don't see the problem, if I don't like how it sounds, I won't buy it. If lots of people do buy it, at $200, and it brings in cashflow to Akai, and keeps Akai going, I don't see it is a bad thing.

The MPC market has to be limited, there are only so many people who are going to be interested in the MPCs, they can't survive as a company solely on the MPC, they have to develop and sell other gear as well.

hadn't considered these points...makes sense from this perspective I suppose...

While Akai is doing everything they can, except what MPC users want, Native Instruments is finding ways to generate money with no problem.

Add a one-two punch to your studio for only $799.00. But hurry – this deal ends March 31!

Thats because Native Instruments is a well oiled German machine and Akai is a rusty old classic bicycle with flat tires.

So frustrating everything akai releases should be made to compliment the ren...I wasn't even disappointed with new products cuz I know all akai has done is put out garbage. Now if akai can make the push for ableton why didn't they work something out with the people at ableton to help them with the mpc software it would have better all around solid programming ....akai BOOOOOOOOO!

Boooooooo +1
im not even gonna get involved in potential discussions, im Just gonna say This adds nothing To what i allready can do, and im pretty Sure It's gonna Be weak, thats probably where i cant find a single video where the "awesome sounds" are demonstrated...i wonder why? The just recycle leftover parts of unsold equipment...maybe this is mandatory and akai is near death...but keep it silent so then can pay of debts or something....and its makes a mockery of producers everywhere especially ren and studio owners....and I already am giving way too much attention to this crap...today my ren crashed 12 times, but hey its all good... :vomit:  :WTF: :vomit:

I'm not Team Poo Poo on Akai, although I could be, but, to have the product there and not be able to hear it, is terrible....
