S3000 & S3000XL Difference in Sound?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I just read this and found it interesting as I recently bought an S3000XL and an S1000. (For the record my S3000XL says it's made in Japan.)

Does anyone know how I could tell if my S3000XL has the EB16 multi-effects board installed? Also, is the board worth getting? (I see them listed between $150 and $300 on Ebay...) I ask because I usually do all my effects and such with plug-ins in a DAW but I'm wondering how the effects on the hardware unit actually sound.

Also someone mentioned something called a "ib30f filter" expansion I haven't heard of before. Anyone have any more info on this?

Easiest way to check if there's EB16 installed, simply just press the "EFFECTS/D" -button. If it's not installed, it will say "Multi-effects board EB16 not fitted" at the bottom of the screen.
I can't really say is it worth getting one because I haven't. I record my stuff from sampler to Cubase where I do my effects. It's quite pleasant method for my workflow.

If it has the second filter, it has the board. It comes built-in with the LP filter, but 2nd filter is HP/EP etc.
Also, I've always liked the FX. Really dig em.
