Been thinking of picking up a 2500 some time this summer so I've been checking the usual online shops/venues. The price range seems pretty wide, so I'm curious what a solid price would be for a used 2500. What would you pay for a stock unit?

Thanks d00dz

prcies tend to vary depending where in U.S you're located. NY got cheapest used gear prices IMO....but to answer your question stock MPC2500 600-700

no problem, there happens to be used 2500 on local craigslist with cd-r, hard disk, and ram upgrade for $750,...with that in mind I'd say 700 would be on high side and top price for stock unit...I know forum member who sold his like new 2500 recently for $850, it had ram cd-r, hard disk, black pads, black sliders and cf card bezel....just putting it out there for price comparison

Got mine for £400 - had JJOS, 128MB and 120GB HD. Had a slight fault that was easy to fix, otherwise the box-less good working order machines go for about £500.

LEs as-new with box maybe £700-800. Anything over that's kite flying.

Got mine a couple of years ago around 400EUR: 128MB, HD 80GB, DVD Burner, JJOSXL + Goldbaby Sample Collection (the pay version of 808, 909, MPC60Vinyl, MPC60Tracked, Classic Drummachines and more) + Spare clean Right PCB + Beautiful Custom Paintjob.

So I'd say it was everything but NOT STOCK.

It came from Germany and was previously owned by a producer called Moli Moh, had to service the buttons thou because some was not 100% responsive. Invested 45EUR in three cans (cleaner, rinse product, service-life extender) and after 20 minutes it was BOSS.

Dig deeper and you'll find your DEAL.

Cool. It is decided then! I am going to be scouting around for a decent deal on a 2500. I'm going to be rocking the 1K and this model together for a little bit to decide which one gets kept... may end up with both, who f*cking knows!

Having more outputs is a god-send... but once I put the JJOS of my choice on the 2500, it is (essentially) operating JUST like a 1K w/ same JJOS on it, correct? (minus the hardware differences, of course.)

Also, there is NO need to buy new pads like there is for the 1K, right? The 2500 was never shipped with the punk-pads that the 1K originally shipped with, is what I've gathered. If I'm wrong, shoot me down, mates.

Peace!

Random quick question:
Are the LCD screens for the MPC 1000 the same screen that is used in the 2500?

They are the same, I know ribbon cable that plugs into the motherboard is much shorter on the 1k than the 2500

yeah it will operate the same as the 1k pretty much, there are a couple buttons that are different but projects will interchange seamlessly.

and no you can rock the stock pads, they are full sized, i only had aftermarket black pads on mine when i had it though, i liiked them better than the stock ones. but thats just the pads themselves, you most likely wont need a pad replacement kit.
