so i'm getting a high-pitched sine wave on playback of recordings, but only when using 14000hz bandwidth or higher. the sound is only present when i have a cable plugged into the line input so if i record silence without a cable plugged in the noise wont be there on playback but if i record silence with a cable plugged in the sine wave will be there on playback. I'm wondering if someone has an ideas what could be causing this problem? and if-so what parts i might need to replace.

thanks.

not using the low-pass filter so no luck there, as far a setup goes i'm sampling off of a Stanton STR8.150 into a pcm05proIII turntable mixer connected by rca cable using line out and ins(although i've tried phono in's and out's but there is no difference) the mixer is then connected to the s950 line input using an RCA to TS Y-cable.

thanks

Oh and can you upload a sample of that sound?

peace

Im betting my money on converting stereo to mono. S950 doesnt sample stereo as you prob know. I use my Y-cable a lot even tho i have a 3k.
