MPD32 VS MPK25/49 WHICH ONE IS BETTER

The Mk2 I tried and seems good, little cheaper but the hypercontrol seems like a good feature to have. I guess the pads on the pro is as good as mk2.could get the pro for same price as mk2 used.

yeah I would probably go with the pro if it's in good shape... simple because later down the road you might like the aftertouch feature which a lot of synth pluggins make use of.

I used to have the Akai Mpk49 and I wouldn't buy it again although I didn't have any problems with it.
The drum pads are pretty wack, just kind of cheep drum machine stuff.
The keys are nice though & the pitch & modulation wheel are good.

But the build quality over all is sort of crumby.
Mostly the rotery nobs & sliders, they're cheap, they functioned well, but looked cheep & easy to bend or f** up if your unlucky.

It really didn't seem like it was going to last more than 2 years at most.

I sold it & bought a mpc2000
I think there is probably better midi controllers out there for the same type of money.
I wouldn't bother with ones with drumpads on, just weighted\semi weighted keys & sliders etc.
No disrespect to any of the mpk49 users out there
But those are my thoughts on it.

Have the MPD32 but haven't used in in 18 months since rebuying an MPC.

It was a great unit that I mostly used with Geist but the pads are thin and hard (although sensitively was alright) but the usual fat pads transformed the MPD into something really playable.

Now debating whether to keep it, perhaps repurposing it more as a Logic controller.

Get one of these:



49 keys plus the pads, faders and transport buttons.
Unless you really need those rotary knobs.

All MPD's and MPK's have the same overall built quality. Same for the quality of the pads. They're shitty, but maybe Akai has increased the quality of the pads on the new boards.
