SCSI Drive and Protools

Just wandering has anyone ever tried recording on Protools using their external SCSI Drive [like an iomega jaz drive]?

Also is any1 using a firewire drive with protools? If so what manafacture. The Digidrive 80 is sooo expensive and im looking for alternatives...any help? Thanks yall

In olden times, most PT systems consisted of SCSI hard drives since they are more reliable and faster.

However, Jazz is a pretty slow drive. Don't expect to be able to record more than 6 record/8 playback tracks from a Jazz. Plus it is a pretty noisy drive. I really cannot stand sitting in the same room with them.

Does the noise get recorded on the track or somethin'? Caus et he noise doesnt bother me? Does any external hard drive count, like say for example an mp3 player like an ipod? thanx yall
