GRanted it's in a pre release..build.. But they fixed it.(i checked it with the prject that crashes)

IF you check the first thread, Ollie, is one of the devs in the cockos team...
Then Justin, then , Jeffos(sws extenstions) ... almost the whole team... Unbelievable support!

I was like fuk it.. Have more money.. And i bought another license(commercial license)...

I tried to reinstall Reaper recently and could never get that damn PT skin to work properly.

No such support for skin etc, but that ProTools Skin was quite EPIC!!!

Have you told the designer of the skin about your issue? The skin designers are not from cockos from what I've seen so far.
I tried the PT skin and I can't use it too, seems like my display resolution is too low (1280x960 and I dont want to increase it)

After trying one and all, Reaper is still the most comfortable DAW I've found. In fact, I've got rid of all of my hardware and find myself using it almost exclusively with the TX16wx.

If they could improve the ReaSamplomatic5000 to include the more MPC-orientated features, like the Poise VST for example, I would be happy to get rid of all of the other software I have.

Find it a dream for chopping with tab-to-transient. I use it with Audition for any detailed wave editing.

While I was considering dipping back into the MPC market, I really think it's overkill for the kind of stuff I do, though I'd love a vintage sampler just for colouring samples. Maybe in the future I will grab another S950 and ASR-10 rack but for now I'm pretty damn happy just chopping in Reaper, routing that audio in the TX16wx and arranging from there.

I used to think Logic looked complicated (too many options?) back in the emagic days. When Apple took over they streamlined it quite a bit so... I jumped onto a mac.

I haven't used reaper seriously before, but it appears to have endless options and be upgraded as often as JJOS . Their support does seem to be very good though and I remember Nym singing reaper's praises way back.

Is it an easy transition for a Logic Pro/Reason/Mac user? Same or better set of features? I hate learning new software, but my Logic Pro 8 is getting old and I'm not trying to upgrade my mac to Mavericks any time soon.

My 2 cents:

I found Reaper quite an easy transition from Logic. It's deep as you would want it to be, but you certainly don't need to get stuck into it at that level. I use it pretty basically compared to some of the other guys on this forum by the sounds of things.

Obviously Logics pro's are the included instruments and effects. Reaper has your bread and butter effects, but less presets included (obviously there is the Reaper stash to grab user created presets, and the JS effects people develop). If you know how to get the sound you're after via programming a compressor or whatever, it won't be an issue. It hosts VST and AU unlike Logic which is definitely a pro and I have found the routing great, although wouldn't say it's any easier.

The fact it can fit on a thumb drive and be taken anywhere is amazing as far as I'm concerned.

I still have a Reason, Recycle, Logic installed, but I find myself using them less and less, if only for added instrumentation when required.

Yay I got internet. I come from emagic logic days too. Then went to cubase. Then reaper. Out where I'm at ATM (setup a studio in remote island) the local guy here uses logic. While logic is great, I find it infuriating to use now. Just little things. I find the setup very confusing. Coming from reaper where you can filter specific functions or actions very fast then assign it to what ever you want ( key, midi note, osx) or a bunch of functions or actions that you mite do a lot, you can assign it to one key press. Workflow shortcut wise it completely blows every other daw out the water..
I edit arrange and navigate only using short cut keys with no mouse. The only time I use a mouse is to adjust parameters.. That's it..
Because it's non destructive editing, things like time stretching or 'flex time' are instantaneous while it mite not matter for small regions it certainly does when you have large files or regions or lots of multiples at once.... I could go on how much better reaper is but it's those things where you just have to take the plunge for your self.. If you have jjos reaper is the perfect match for it I think.. They both talk to each other really well.
