honestly i see nann difference other than sound processing, cuz other than that its whuts in the mind.

word cause if i need lo fi drums i'll sample some lo fi drums or do that trick where u sample at 45rpm and then pitch it down to get the 12 bit effect. for real i think the 500 is the joint

Is that a jjos trick or something?

You know, the difference between using the Nann effect or not. I used to use the Nann effect all the time. Now I think it's cheating cause everything fed through it sounded like a professional production.

yea the 500 is the sh1t..I mainly got it because you are forced to chop by ear.
Plus if u use Inflict copy and chop method it is super fast and you can get more creative than just using some chop shop which I think leads to more cookie cutter type beats....cats is sleeping on the 500,like homie said 'sh1ts the bomb'

Lately I've been chopping straight off the record. Sample in the first, spin it back, stop, play then sample in the next. If you've got a turntable this probably is the quickest way to do it. Plus it makes me feel more like I'm playing an instrument. There's more of a physical skill involved and needed in the process. Just my 2 cents.

So im pluggin in the turntable, playin my 2 bar sample or whatever.

Record the 2 bar to 1 pad, set tempo,

then cut the start-end of the first beat, assign,

cut start-end second beat, assign,

cut start-end third beat, assign, ect....

am i right thats the best way?

I aint got no pc right now (at work) , so just mixer turntable and MPC.

The other way was mention back their sounds usefull (pullin back the record) but sound hard to get the 4 beat samples to sound seamless when pushin pads,

Im sure this come up a million times, i just can find it

cut start first then copy, cut start then copy, cut start then copy,. once u got em across as many pads as u want then go back and cut the end points check the first post on the chopping on my 500 thread..

I have chopped for years on a variety of machines that don't have graphics to assist. However, I decided my attention span was my main inhibitor. I just copped Beatcleaver and my ability to get busy has just went stratospheric. Highly recommended....

it's like chopping in the Asr10...so easy and fast.
