this is a little hard to explain. i just got a new mpc 2000xl, whenh i record a sample and then play it back and try to record it, everytime i press it it double over. is there a setting so that instead of the sample blending it will stop the first one and then play again. And even more then that is there a way for me to set it so that when i press down on the pad it plays the sample and when i let go it stops. Anything you can tell me on this subject would help me out a great deal...thanks alot

Yo dude, u gotta go to the trim screen [shift 6], go to loop, and set your start & end points. There is a tutuorial on this site that clears this all up, so check it out. ppeace

if you're talking about an overlapping sample and not a loop overlapping, go to shift>program and press PARAM. on the lower right hand corner there is an option to have the sample stop if you press the pad again before the sample ends...peas

Open param page...in the very bottom left is an option for POLY...change that and see how it plays back in the various settings...Done
