Hard disk for MPC 1000?

I am new with this machine and I just bought the used MPC 1000 in ebay, and no hard disk. I need some info.

1. Can I use the hard disk for mpc 1000 more than 160 gb?
2. what is the specific details for the hard disk? (IDE,SATA,etc?)
3. Any suggest for brands or types for hard disk?

I have a 160GB and it still only reads 120GB, that is the max... drives need to be IDE (not SATA) and anything above 5400 RPM is a waste due to the read speed of the 1K ... I used a WD WD1200BEVE on a refurb unit and it is perfect.
