Can't upgrade 1.14c to 1.20

Im trying to upgrade my mp2kxl from 1.14c to 1.20. Process is running but when i restart all i see is 1.14c in VER menu again. Tried different mpc2kxl.bin files, but everything not work. Trying to upgrade from SCSI ZIP and from Internal ZIP. And what is 1.14c who know? Thanks!

114c is thee most evil, corrupt and **** os in existence for 2kxl. It caused me so much pain and despair. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I was able (from floppy) to go back to 114 and I've stayed there since.

Damn man, that 1.14c is really pain in da ass. I bought some 128 mb cf cards. I think its impossible to switch 1.14c to 1.20

When trying to save sound to cf. But works fine for loading, and saving .ALL

Have you tried installing an older version and then try 1.20 again?
Just a thought (untested).

I can post an older OS if you need it.

That is what you will have to do in order to get away from 114c.

i just picked up a 2000xl with no drive at all in a trade. i have a bunch of floppy drives and ive downloaded the 1.2 os, unzipped it, put it on a floppy, mpc2kxl.bin is never found.
ive renamed the file to mpc2kxl.sys and mpc2kxl.exe and these are seen but after the second 'DO IT!' i keep getting a file not found error
finally managed to do it
it wouldnt read the .bin file as unzipped
i had to rename it MPC2KXL.BIN (all caps) to get it to load
and now were working and tomorrow ill order that sd drive and see about getttin it workin

oh id formatted back and forth for days
the unzipped file was MPC2KXL.bin, which would only read ??????
when i renamed it MPC2KXL.BIN, i was able to load it up just perfectly!
a very bizarre thing; it seems that os 1.11 cant recognize files without file extensions in ALL CAPS
god i went thru half a bottle of valium and was still freaking out about this thing until i noticed it saw MPC2KXL.SYS and MPC2KXL.EXE but couldnt load them. eureka!
