Sorry, but I agree with SimonInAustralia. You HAVE been ranting all over these forums again and again, and most of us have been fed up with your complaining rather than the Ren itself. people who are in the market for a beat machine come to this discussion board all the time to hear people's opinions (or what u call rants) You may get annoyed but there's always someone out there who will respect my opinion and take it for what it is and hopefully it will help others with their own music making/gear buying decisions. People are interested in opinions of actual product users, I used the product and gave my opinions.

You also dont need to rant when you own a Maschine Studio I feel like I'm 10 years in the future on the Maschine Studio compared to working on the MPC Ren.

I bought the Maschine 2.0 update, but haven't dove into it. It sucks with MK1 hardware!

yeah its kinda wierd with the mk1, I was doing that and sold my mk1 too, mstudio is the truth tho, try the mstudio and use it with 2.0... I forget sometimes the maschine studio is running on software on my computer, its feels like hardware, its solid, heavy, and feels well built, I really like it, and I haven't ran into many bugs yet and it was stable for me. I mostly use the hardware screens unless I have to browse a a folder or something with my mouse or do a few others tasks but mostly work from the hardware, the mixer screen is crazy, things are a little different from mpc format but its dope. If someone is good they make dope beats on anything but I felt like the M-s was the least restricting, and the most possibility for progression of the software AND hardware, the more innovative product at the moment, just my overall way of seeing it, I mean an mpc is an mpc, the Ren is cool even tho I dont make it sound like it is but really it doesn't add anything ground breaking like new, I need some shit thats going more towards the future I dunno, just how I feel, knowing NI has the development team and the resources and the right heads with the right brains to put out a more fierce product even inn the next few years as both these products/companies progress

I think most of the features are accessible but not all. I don't think mixer access is on the mk1. I like 2.0 on the Mk1 though, the Maschine studio is definitely on my list for the next purchase.

i read in a thread designed for telling you whats coming in the next update that you will have a mixer screen on the MK1 and 2

Nothing I can say in particular other than the mixer and komplete graphics. Also, not having the multi-colored pads sucks!

I bought the Maschine 2.0 update (on MK1 hardware) for my fiancé and she was wanting to go back to version 1.8 for a while. She still says it's missing things from 1.x that she used on a regular basis like the "split" function and she also complained that it was more difficult to access the sampler controls. A lot of things changed so I think most of it is just getting used to something different but there are things that are just missing too.

I'll probably just get her the Maschine Studio for her birthday (lucky she's not on these forums )

Yeah, there were some things I was used to doing on 1.x that I couldn't figure out without the manual. So I gave up. If I ever end up getting a Studio, then I will read the manual!

yea, i ended up not buying 2.0 update,. i demoed it with my mk1 mikro and found stuff missing and shit that hindered my workflow, so i was like **** it and I'm still on 1.8…lol

I found it a pain to use the mk1 with maschine 2.0 also, it seemed more intended and geared towards using the maschine studio hardware, and turns out that was exactly the case when I got the mstudio. I can see why some things are wierd on the mk1 its because since they redesigned the software they were probably building the software to integrate perfect with the studio and not so much the mk1 or mk2s, but yeah they said they are adding the mixer screen for mk1/mk2 users in the next update but I think the visuals and all on the mstudio makes such a big difference.
