Start with Cubasis, and learn the basics. Then after a few months, give the cracked Cubase you have a try. If you feel you need the extra tracks and functions go buy a legal copy.

Logic is no longer on the PC because Apple bought eMagic and took their technology to make Garage Band. They still make Logic, but they ceased PC development. I personally use Sonar4. It's great, but there are more features in it than I probably need.
