Akai Lied! Can't use rex files with a MPC Renaissance or Stu

I use REX files quite frequently on my MB Pro 10.8.5 with 1.6, no issues. I just use the left file browser to navigate to my external drive, find the folder, find the sound I want and drag it to a pad. Chop, slice, whatever. Just don't try to turn a REX file into a patch phrase. You'll get some REAL interesting results.

I've also got OS X 10.8.5 with MPC 1.6 and have no problems with Rex files. The MPC Loop Library comes with a tonne of them.

X I just dont understand why it isn't working for you. Its worked from day one and i never heard anyone complain about it. That doesn't mean what your saying isn't true. Can you up a vid to show us your problem?

You are probably doing something wrong. If you are certain you aren't doing anything wrong, try uninstalling and reinstalling the software completely!

Rex files (rx2) working absolutely fine here in 1.6 Mac 10.7.5. Visible in browser, double click into memory and chop points all present.

Video of the problem please and maybe a dropbox link to an example of the problematic rex file?

Old Rex file made years ago loads up fine in the MPC software. I just dragged it from the desktop to pad. Going to sample edit preserves the slice points.

Sorry I jest but why do people expect Akai to have EVERYONES NEEDS MET!
Seriously, Rex files work for me and if it ain't working get a program that converts files? Chicken Systems Translator is awesome and something that I find helpful.

If ya got like 500 gb of Rex files.....stick with Reason!! Why should it be Akai's responsibility to cover every format? Stick with clicking a mouse using Reason if that's how you roll?

If they say its a feature (which they did) then its their responsibility but I understand what your saying.

Yeah man. I reckon however the OP contacts Akai direct as no one appears to have issues with Rex files on here

x-straktor, can you send me one of the rex files you can't load or put it on a server somewhere, so I can see what's wrong?
Rex files should work on both windows and mac, on any Ren version.

rex files work very well on 1.6 im using mpc on a mac with rex files everyday its obvious that this guy is doing something wrong.
