cant figure this out

ive read the manual,but i just cant understand how to cut off a sample with another sample.how exactly is this done.thanks

You mean you have a sample that's actually two samples, and you want to split it in two?

The most simple way is to select the sample in the Trim/Loop page and set the St and END values such that they play the first part. Now EXTRACT that part into a new sample.

Now select the first sample again and DISCARD the part that you extracted before. What's left now is the second half of the sample.

Alternatively, you could SLICE the sample. But that's a little more work to setup.

it's to do with mute groups in the program section... havn't tried it yet but I think what you want is say a closed hi hat and when you want the open hi hat to play, it mutes the closed one????? is that correct... any one here able to explain???? i'd also like to know

yes thats it.i cant figure that out.also do a lot of people use this technique.

i would love to use it for live playing.... you could change the punch of your song by unmutuing the track with the open high hat in the mute screen or play another variation of your track with a slightly different sound and then return to the original on the fly.... or you could use it to
replace a snare hit from time to time, the possibilities are countless.... please someone shed some light, I was going to post about this also..
