Hi all, been lurking and reading here for awhile and would appreciate your input about MPC software when it's inside your DAW.
I run Ableton 9.1 64 bit and am looking for a good drum/chopping/sample twisting solution so I've been interested in the Studio for awhile. I just want a good workflow and decent integration with my DAW. My highest priorities are sample layering, kit building, and muting and soloing pads within beats from the controller.
First, does the REN/Studio controller function the same when you're inside another DAW? Sometimes these hybrid machines loose some button abilities when they aren't running in stand alone, and then you lose the benefits of a controller.
Second, (101 stuff here but I've never used an MPC) can I record/overdub pad mutes/solos from the controller, when inside my DAW?
Third, are the pad lights easy on the eyes? I tried out an Arturia Sparkle and the lights were so damn bright that I couldn't stand being in front of it!
I have Geist (and Ableton's drum racks), but I really want a more hands on feel.
Thanks all
