hey @petegoodliffe is 1.7 dropping any time soon? Feels like its been a little quiet for mpc.

Pete Goodliffe ‏@petegoodliffe Mar 26
@valourbaby We're still working on it. There's a LOAD of cool tweaks in here, and it's still baking.

Pete Goodliffe ‏@petegoodliffe Mar 26
@valourbaby I think that it will be really welcome when it comes, and because of what's in here, i'm definitely not rushing it.

And previously...
RoKGOD ‏@rokgod Mar 5
@petegoodliffe any type of release window for the 1.7 update yet?

Pete Goodliffe ‏@petegoodliffe Mar 5
@iamrocgod Not yet, no. We have taken some things apart to make MPC better. 1.7 is not coming for a few weeks yet.

Pete Goodliffe ‏@petegoodliffe Mar 5
@iamrocgod I think it will be worth it!

I've been here since 1.0. In my experience I've seen a theme, Dan says 1 to 2 months that means 4 months. Basically take whatever they say and double it... seriously

Well whatever new features they release.. epic or not, I don't want to hear anything about Maschine Killer.. only fan boys talk like that

Well I don't think Akai is gonna out do NI because they have more experience in software maybe one day when Akai really takes it seriously and stop thinking in the past .

my mpc 4000 was amazing but i couldnt afford keyboards.
the ren aint even mpc 4000 (s5000/s6000)sampler serious! so many of us ol' roger linn sampler slice and dice ROLAND VP 9000 (Date Produced - 2000) (real-time timetstretch follow tempo) hippies are now :hmmm: .......

2002 S.O.S. Mag

Sample editing: The MPC4000 shares all the sample-manipulation functionality of the Z series, including looping, stretching, shifting, slicing and dicing. However, considering that the MPC4000 will be used primarily with drum samples and rhythm loops, certain operations could benefit from more intuitive implementation. For example, the beat-slicing function, while powerful, is unnecessarily convoluted. Most users would find it easier to export their samples into Recycle, and then re-import the bits back into the MPC — which pretty much defeats the object of the built-in feature.

its like they TOP OUT AT ROLAND V-SAMPLING STANDARDS or sumn.....still waiting for features in a box promised to work since when? :Sigh:

I think most people are disappointed that Akai didn`t continue where the 4000 and where the 5000 disappointed with the Ren .I'm not gonna stay here and bash Akai all day even with 1.7 they are still gonna still be lagging behind the competition.

I bet 2 more updates and Akai will abandon the Ren/Studio. They aren't selling, where is Akai going to get funding to keep updating the MPC R/S for the next 10 years like they said? (or even next 2 years) 90% of the mpc Ren/Studios that came off their assembly line are still on store shelves collecting dust. They are probably taking super long with this update because their funds are extremely low and they know it will be one the last updates so they are trying really hard to make it good. lol  I hope the next MPC is already in the works, and I hope Dan is NOT the project manager of the product, these guys put out the worst 2 failures of mpcs ever made to date, the 5000 and the Ren/Studio
