Anyone know how to lower the volume of the metronome?

Just checked the manual so that I would not suffer the wrath of Lampdog
:)

Could not find anything. The metronome is WAY TOO LOUD for me at this point.

thanks!

Take a high hat that you know is chopped right, insert it into a track with timing correct on and turn off metronome and use that as your metronome, change the volume of it.

But if the metronome is a lot louder than your samples it probably means that you're not recording them in loud enough. You could also normalize them but it's better to turn up the gain of whatever you're sampling.

thanks man for a quick response!

good idea with the high-hat. will try that now.

Does this mean that there is no way to adjust the metronome volume?

Does anyone else think that this is a strange thing to omit?

Maybe there's a philosophy behind it.

The metronome shouldn't be too loud if your samples are at a proper volume. Look into it, I would try and be more specific but I don't know your setup or how you're getting your sounds.

It's important to have your sounds as close to 0dB as possible without going over in any phase of production.

yes, I understand about getting the samples up to proper volume. that does help.

however, when I'm recording, I like to have the metronome extremely soft. it's just a personal preference for me.

I tried your idea about using one of my samples as metronome. That was a great idea. Thanks for the great workaround!

Tell me why I have the opposite problem, where the metronome is not loud enough sometimes? I've had to resort to what someone has said to do earlier, record the hi-hats loud and use that as metronome. Turned off everything metronome too.

Not meant to thread jack but im not good at following the metronome at all. I had this problem when I tried horribly at playing the guitar and bass. I really don't want to lose focus on the MPC seeing I spent all this money on it :-D ... Anyhow my beats are not so good cause of the little click you know. I know the importance of the time keeper so can anyone give me some advice on how to prevail at beating this damn thing? Or where to out the instruments?

You can turn off the metronome. While you're at it, turn TC off. Set your bars to 999 and you'll be able to record your sounds like a tape recorder.

I never figured to play along the metronome. The downbeat sounds like where I should put my snares and the rest, the kicks. But its the other way around. You lay your kick on the downbeat. Everytime though I get it twisted. The metronome goes BEEP, click, click, click, BEEP, click, click, click. So to me, the BEEP is the snare drop. Man, **** the metronome.
