DUMPING SYS EX INTO MPC 2000?

Can you sys ex dump from a sythn into the MPC? If so, how? I have my MPC and Triton midi connected both, in and out, shaking hands techinque some call it. My problem is that I have to save my work on both machines, Triton saves the sounds in each track and MPC saves the midi data created for the song. So I'm wondering if there's anyway I could save every thing on the MPC? Also, if sysex dump is possible into the MPC, can I read the patches from the sythn?

i would say thre gotta be a way....cuz think about the modules that don't have a saving method....the mpc would have to do the work.....a lot of ppl know and don't wanna help becuz they feel that if we spend this much money on equipment we should know MIDI.....that sounds like hate to me though

you can certainly record SysEx on the MPC. All you need to find out is how to initiate a dump from the triton. just hit record on the MPC, that's it. However, when you load the data back into thekorg, make sure that the sequencer tempo is not too fast (let's say not faster than 100BPM). The triton manual should tell you about it though.

You should always test it with sounds you've still got in memory, otherwise you might wipe something by accident...

That is a pretty ridiculous thing to say. The post was only up 30 minutes before you said that. Jeez, at least give the people that know a chance to repsonse. The people `in the know` likely have real lives and can't hang out on the board and answer every question within 15 minutes.

nah, mpc3k you got it all wrong similar questions was posted up by myself and a few other and went unnoticed for days i have one post that has been lost in the shuffle for months now and all i got was posts from other triton owners looking for the same answer.......and another one that i posted on where a few of the forum members said that we should know MIDI if we are gonna spend all that dough on equipment.....if you need proof i will find the links........so i don't know why you think i would say something like that with no reason

Well, that is one of the drawbacks of an online BBS. If you do not get an answer within a day, the thread is buried and will never get answered. I host and run the Akai Pro Samplers mailing list with over 1k members. A mailing list means that all those members are going to see the question and they all get answered. The mailing list is quite a bit more formal than this and other BBS and concentrates on helping each other. There are members from nearly all sampler manufacturers, software authors, sample creating companies.

Question for fm_xtk, I got the same advice last week and all I got was errors. So how much Sysex can MPC hold?

no idea mate, never done it myself....

For the XL it is about 50kb per sequence. You can get up to 300kb of data if you can spread it across several sequences. This is right out of the manual.
