Y'all better hope that aint the next MPC, thats just an ugly modded rehash of the mpc Renaissance, lol, damn Akai is a joke nowadays, its a shame, and what it is this partnering with Microsoft crap? I dont want no shitty Windows OS integrated with my MPC, I want standalone or something that integrates perfect with a dope software.

I dont even have the Ren no more, but I'm still wondering where the hell that 1.7 is, I know a lot go people BEEEEEN waiting almost half a year now, what the ****? Looks like trading in my Ren was a great idea. I'll pray for all you current mpc studio/ren owners in the mean time, pfffff Akai is straight doing their customers dirty

The problem with it running the MPC Software is that the MPC Software is clearly not optimised for a small screen or touch screen environment - you can't just throw a desktop application in there, the usability would be atrocious.

I use my Sony Viao touchscreen all-in-one all the time when I dont want to turn on the Ren. Works pretty good.

Ok, I JUST had a sec to finally look at this vid... and I must say... This may be what you all have been waiting for!!!

I'm glad I held out the first round of "new" MPCs

I'm looking into reviewing the entire vid because if your listen into what he is saying about HOW Microsoft and NuKai can now work together, THIS IS HUGE!!!

We all know that the programming issues the devs have been dealing with and if what I am hearing is correct, it is going to make that process easier for them. (A win in my book)

Prediction incoming:

In late 2015 or early 2016, Akai will be release and new and improved MPC Renaissance (some new name)

It will be a "standalone" Ren/mini-Surface Hybrid device.

It will have a much larger, touch-screen display. (It may be possibly removable)

It will end up running a version of the MPC software stripped-down to the level of a "Traditional" MPC OS.

The Boogieman has spoken...
