MPC 4k Not Working Need Help !!!!

if you're near nyc and can drop it off to me i'll take a look at it. i'm no mpc service center but i can at least help you rule out a few things.

it just seems odd that the seller would advertise as fully functional, then you get it and it doesn't work at all, then they refund you 500 of your 700 bucks...sounds fishy to me. if it was damaged in shipping the shipper should have filed a claim for the insured amount. maybe they're trying to pull a fast one on you, in which case they got 200 bucks for a broken machine.

did you buy on ebay and pay via paypal?

this happened to me.
i sold a working mpc, and when it arrived at the buyer's location
hard drive would not read, and no sound or midi out.

i like paypals policy on helping buyers with woes. i never worry when using it. i would return that crap or part it out.

imo The 4k s should not be posted.Like posting a desktop computer......Too many bits moving around and cracking ect....very delicate.

So for all who want to know what happened. I bought the 4k for 700 on ebay. I received it and it was broke. Got $500 refund on ebay from the guy. Went to repair shop to fix and it cost me $96 to fix it. So all in all i got the 4k for $300 which is a steal plus I got a bunch of sounds on discs that the guy gave me. Sounds from the Phantom.

List of the fixes from repair shop:
Reseated loose CD Drive
Reseated loose connectors
Reseated loose DIMM modules
Removed and installed digital audio output connector in correct cd drive slot
reseated loose molex power supply connectors

Anyways the 4k i working now and all for $300 !!!

So basically the repair guy had a 5 minute twiddle inside. Good news tho

All of the problems found could have worked themselves loose in transit.
Seller made a big mistake with the refund, they should have done a return.

Can't understand why they would have taken such a dramatic hit instead of doing a return?
