I forgot that I was in record mode when I started messing around with the volume of individual tracks... so now as the sequence plays the volumes fluctuate.

Where do I go to see where these automations were recorded so that I can clear them and make the tracks one constant volume again?

Aaaaah... I been there my friend....hope this helps...
In track view, (shift +trackmix)underneath the piano roll, there should be automation parameters pitch Bend modulation amplitude....u can click on that,in your case amplitude or volume not sure..and there are red blocks u can click,nudge,change,delete..hope this worked...

Also if you hold "alt" or some other modifier (can't remember right now) the pencil turns into an eraser and you can erase all of the automation.

Hmm, I went to track view (shift + track mix) but I don't see any automation parameters anywhere.

I still can't figure it out... When I goto track view (shift + trackmix) I don't see anything about automation underneath the piano roll. I just see each track listed vertically at the top showing all the red notes for each one... and then each of the tracks below that listed horizontally with "Insert" and "Send" at the top of each one.

When I goto Program Mix I can see the volume things fluctuating for the tracks that have the volume automation, but even there I can't seem to find anywhere to reset the automation.

Go into track mixer, then there's a drop-down box marked edit mode in the top right of the screen. Click that then select volume, then you can highlight the envelope points in the track and delete them, or erase them using alt + click.

Ok when I goto Track Mix I see the drop-down menu in the upper right, but when I select "Volume" nothing seems to change on the screen at all... I don't see any envelope points, all I see still are the "notes" for each track.

The tracks that stay the same don't have any changes to track volume recorded in them, so they don't show anything. If you scroll down you will hopefully see the tracks you've recorded changes to.

I took a screenshot : http://imgur.com/gdrYr0g

2 of the tracks have changes recorded and the blue envelope shows up to represent it. I've highlighted half the points on the top track.

The middle track doesn't reflect any change in edit mode, a better UI would be to show whatever volume level is set regardless of whether there have been any changes recorded when you switch into volume mode, like how Reaper does it. Then you could set the level to the loudest you want it and draw your fade in.
