why did i wait to get into a 4k?

the sound of this machine is very far above the rest and the depth is there for anyone wishing for more out of their mpc sounds. all you need is a decent synth to sample and a little patch making prowess and the mpc 4000 will take you there. why did i even attempt this without a 4k?

I think the same way. Actually, I think people have the misconception that there are genre machines.

i know why: money. i didnt realize they were as cheap as they are used until i looked recently. and i was lucky enough to find a pristine used one and a mediocre one, both were super cheap!

The MPC4000 is our little secret, once labelled a 'white elephant' by SOS magazine. I'd buy another MPC4000 over a Renaissance any day. MV8800 I once had didn't cut it either, workflow sucked.

Had my 4000 for about 10 years now, still a beast even though my FX wont work...

Clint is right when he says secret. I did research for almost a year before I bought my 4000. I watched every video on youtube and read everything on the web. The reason why I make all of these super basic videos on youtube is so that people can see the ease of use and the workflow. The machine needs to be unveiled.

So many videos are out there that are "look at me making a beat" not "this is how one goes about making a beat step 1 , step 2, step 3"

To me the MPC4000 is the best sequencer, compared to the RM1X, SU700, Fantom S, Fantom X, MC909, QY700.
Using it for DnB it is a dream.
Using it for layering it is a dream
Using it with a digital multitrack recorder like the Roland VS-2480 through ADAT is all one needs for a professional set up.

PS I got mine is pristine condition as well and it was $600 dollars. I drove from Washington DC to Philly to get it the day it was posted on craigslist.

PPS The other secrets are the Z4 and Z8. If you already have a sequencer then all you need is one of these and you can do everything with that mod matrix in it.
