Going to Guadalajara Mexico to do some Crate diggin!!

I figure my chances that some of you have visited the beautiful country of Mexico and done a little vinyl digging over there can give me hand. I will be visiting in April and I want to make a list of spots that I want to hit so I can come back stacked with a collection from over there. I know I can google it but theirs something more reassuring about real experiences people have had over there. Can any of y'all fellow beat makers help me out? When I do go and come back I will be posting my finds for sure. Thanks y'all!

Most likely there will be no vinyl shops unless you hit up salvage stores and antique shops. Vinyl pressed there are bootlegged folk music for senior citizens or church music. Some of that church music is good though, especially the funeral dirges, so grab one or two to taste. Usually the whole band is on the cover. Search for cumbia with electric guitar and organ from the '70s and stay away from the '80s crap with the Casio keyboards (you'll thank me later.) There are instrumental cumbias too so be alert.

Like I said vinyl diggin' south of the border is like searching for a Snapple vending machine in the desert.

Well............about 20 years ago i visted my frien in the old quarter of Mexico city.He was reporting for an English paper and had a nice flat there which i stayed in.He used to be a dj a t Jazz fm london when it played real 'Jazz.He had a ton of rare Vinyl which he got off the street vendors which was somehow probably comprimised quality wise having been recorded in the country!!!!!!Dunno if thats still flourishing but i can confirm theres stuff out there.

i found some nice records in guadalajara. keep your eyes peeled. theres some good ish out there. sealed beatles records sabbath hendrix etc cool prices.. barely got my feet wet out there. gna have to revisit.
